Western Foods Gains Exposure at Natural Products Expo West

Western Foods gluten free supplier attends Natural Products ExpoTom Andringa, VP of Sales and Marketing; and Matt Cox, Purchasing and Customer Service Manager; represented  Western Foods at this year’s Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, CA.

This year’s expo had record breaking attendance, with over 67,000 health products industry members and 2,600 exhibitors. The Natural Products Expo showcases natural products across many industries:

  • Food and beverage
  • Beauty and household
  • Vitamins and supplements
  • Pet products

The expo is committed to serving and growing the natural, organic and healthy living community. The health industry is currently experiencing exponential growth, growing by 8.6 percent yearly over the next 5 years. Additionally, the natural products show is leading edge in terms of health related food trends; the most prominent being gluten free, non GMO and organic.

The Natural Products Industry is Growing

Due to many trends in the current market, the natural products industry is consistently growing. Industry growth can be attributed to many factors, such as:

1)      More consumers are focused on health and wellness

2)      More healthy and natural products are becoming more convenient and accessible

3)      Labels and packaging are shifting towards full disclosure, including non-GMO, organic, gluten free and certifications

4)      Special diets and community awareness are growing. As many people are switching to vegan, paleo and gluten free diets, more information and health benefits of these diets are being brought to light

5)      Food as health care: Many foods intolerances and autoimmune diseases are shifting the way some people have to eat in order to prevent getting sick

Western Foods was proud to attend as a leading gluten free, non-GMO grain supplier. At the show we were able to meet with the majority of our accounts that are in the gluten free and natural food sectors, as well as introduce ourselves to prospective accounts that use gluten free flours. We were also able to spend some time with many of our key vendors and distributors, whose relationships we depend on in order to best serve our customers. As the health food industry continues to grow, these relationships will become even more vital.
