We specialize in gluten-free and allergen-free rice flours, ancient grain milling, blending, packaging & distribution. Our state-of-the-art flour mills combine the latest technology with expertise & experience in grain milling, blending, packaging & further processing.

Our Story

Western Foods was established by enticing a small nucleus of highly skilled talent specific to rice and rice flour from the local area, then constructing a state-of-the-art rice mill on Pioneer Avenue in Woodland, CA. With the food markets trending into gluten-free products it’s extremely important to offer security around the product itself. Very decisively the management team committed and conformed to all the necessary food safety requirements and the facility very quickly became certified Organic, non-GMO Project Verified (the butterfly seen on the front of the pack of many food products), Kosher, Halal to name but a few.

California rice fields provide habitat and nourishment for approximately seven million ducks and geese migrating along the Pacific Flyway each year. Ricelands are increasingly crucial to hundreds of thousands of shorebirds that nest in the fields year-round. For example, recent studies have shown that California ricelands currently provide more than half of the nutritional requirements of wintering waterfowl in the Sacramento Valley.
